ESPR Youth Fishing Day 2018

The Excelsior Springs Parks and Recreation is sponsoringn a MO free fishing day for youth ages 15 years old and younger on Saturday, June 9, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Powell Lake in Century Park off Wornall Road. Bring your own fishing pole, lures, etc. There will be demonstrations held throughout the day. Includes hot dogs and drinks, drawings for poles, tackle-boxes, and other items throughout the event.

Meals on Wheels program volunteers sought

The City of Excelsior Springs is hoping to reinstate the hot delivered meals to local residents currently receiving frozen meals. The new Excelsior Springs Home Delivered Meals Volunteer Program is looking for drivers to deliver between 4 to 10 meals one day a week. Advisory from MODOT: Various lane closures of 69 Hwy. between Excelsior Springs and Liberty from May 14 - June 1 for concrete work.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close various lanes of southbound 69 Highway between McCleary Rd. and North Lightburne St. from 8 a.m. through 8 p.m. daily, beginning May 14 and continuing through Friday, June 1 for concrete pavement repair work. Crews will also close various lanes of northbound 69 Highway between Fishing River Rd. and McCleary Rd. from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, beginning May 14 and continuing through June 1 for concrete pavement repair work. Spring of 2018 marks new growth in business community

Excelsior Springs Planning and Zoning commission members have had a busy past few months helping businesses with development needs. Recent business expansion in Excelsior Springs includes a newly remodeled McDonald's and new El Maguey Mexican Restaurant in the Vintage Plaza. Soon construction will begin on Aldi's, moving to the corner of McCleary Road. New downtown developments include two new breweries, Fishing River Market remodel, and a new housing community in the Royal Hotel, which will feature a restored roof garden for events. Construction on the east side of town will bring a new Golf Course Club House, outdoor pavilion and new home construction.For more about economic development in the community, click here.

Popular Annual Financial Report for 2017 published

The City of Excelsior Springs is pleased to present the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) which details the City's finances and administrative activities for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2017. This report provides a brief overview of where the City revenue comes from and where those dollars are spent, as well as trends in the local economy. This report is intended to summarize the financial activities of the City of Excelsior Springs and includes a portion of the information that appears in the 2017 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).

City-owned properties available for redevelopment

The Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority (LCRA) is soliciting redevelopment proposals for various parcels of land, some vacant, some with blighted structures and several located within one of the Local or National Register Historic Districts and/or 353 Redevelopment District. Downtown 353 incentives available now

The City of Excelsior Springs held a public meeting to discuss a 353 District for the downtown commerial and residential area at a special City Council meeting, Thursday, Nov. 16. The Chapter 353 Ordinance was approved on Monday, Nov. 20 at a regular city council meeting. Click here for information.

Municipal Court launches new web presence

The Excelsior Springs Municipal Court has developed an online site to provide general information to the public including court dates and dockets, citations and payment information, community service requirements and links to additional information.
